News
and Notes
Fall
is swiftly approaching and I know you
are all immersed in teaching. This
time of the year is full of interest
in learning and everyone in education
is focused on new beginnings. September's
newsletter has an interesting article
by Jeremy Miller and Marco Fornari
(Physics), Minds-on Audio Guided
Activities: Teaching the Coriolis Effect,
about using iPods in their teaching.
They also include an invitation to
join their research. The review for
September is of the book “Professors
as Writers” by
Robert Boice submitted by Catherine Riordan (Academic
Affairs).
Additional information includes the
monthly Blackboard Tip and invitations
to two conferences: The Lilly
Conference on College and University
Teaching in Traverse City and the Michigan
Blackboard User’s Group (MiBUG) state
conference here in Mount Pleasant. As
always, there are books to review and
an invitation to join an ever-growing
group of faculty who have contributed
to this newsletter.
Until next time,
