Notes
and News
Hello and welcome to the
June issue of Teaching Central. Our features
this month focus on evaluating and improving
courses and scholarship. Denise Webster's
article this month is a to-the-point article
titled Connecting
Program Outcomes Assessment with Designing
and Improving Courses and Curricula.
Mary Swickert has a book review of Teaching
Tips by Wilbert J. McKeachie.
We've also provided a link to an
article on PowerPoint and the Tips of the
Trade this month is on using folders and
files to organize your courses in Blackboard.
It's also a good time to remind
you of the upcoming Lilly
North Conference ( September
14-17) in beautiful Traverse City. Time
is growing short (early registration
ends June 15th) and you won’t want
to miss the exciting list of presenters
this year. The conference tracks are
Teaching with Technology,
Adult learning and Nontraditional Formats,
Service-Learning and Volunteerism and
Potentiating Possibilities in Learning. An added bonus for the first
time is a Tips
for Teachers Educational Excursion.
The excursion will visit the
Chateau
Chantal Winery and then travel
to the Bowers
Harbor Inn for dinner.
Experts in the field will be making "Tips
for Teachers" presentations that
will not be repeated at the conference.
Don't forget to let us know when
you publish or receive a commendation
or honor. You (CMU's facuty) are
involved in exciting research and publications
and we would like to showcase and share
your accomplishments. Please forward
information to me at [ekstr1i@cmich.edu].
Until next time,
Ireta
