Notes and
News
By Ireta Ekstrom
Hello everyone,
The sun is shining and I can see students
briskly moving toward classes: Ahh,
what a beautiful winter day here in
Mid-Michigan.
The start of a new semester always brings
thoughts of the many ways to help students
learn. One important method we have is
to provide feedback for students. Our
featured article this month is e Feedback
for E Assignments by David Lloyd, an
adjunct Faculty member in Off Campus
Programs. He has a time-tested method
of providing feedback to students that
will work for either teaching face-to-face
or online courses.
The book Review is Judith Grunert’s
book The Course Syllabus: A Learning-Centered
Approach by Jan Farmer. While I realize
that you have already created this semester’s
syllabus, read the review and take a
critical look at your syllabi and perhaps
plan for some changes for next semester’s
classes.
Also check out the events scheduled
for the near future, our monthly BlackBoard
Tip and the Books available to review
for a future newsletter.
Until next time,
